Management of the bill-to customer mode in sales processes

The concept of a bill-to customer refers to a situation in which the customer placing the order is not the one responsible for payment. The payment is made by another entity, defined according to its belonging to a group, a business unit, a family structure, or a hierarchical relationship. (see Creating a professional customer )

When the invoice is issued, the invoiced customer remains the customer who placed the order (or the bill-to customer defined in the customer record). However, the bill-to customer will be the one specified in the customer record.

Payments are made to the bill-to customer’s account. The accounting entries generated during payments are therefore assigned to the bill-to customer.

To enable bill-to customer management, you need to select the corresponding option in the sales settings: Settings > Plug-ins and options > Sales.
